Royal India

After watching the rubgy one night at Subi Oval, I discovered the challenge of trying to find somewhere in Subiaco to eat after the match. The 4 or 5 places were all full to the brim with reservations, so given that I had parked up near work, we decided instead to venture back to West Perth and see if they could squeeze us in at the Royal India. It was tremendous that they had a spare table up near the bar for us to sit at. We were just happy to be sitting down and have a table and soon enough had placed our order – butter chicken, which is a dish of boneless chicken, served with almonds, cream and herbs, then we also got rogan josh, which is boneless lamb in a sauce of onions, tomato and yoghurt, and finally we ordered steamed basmati rice and plain naan bread.

Both these dishes are probably considered fairly main stream, but they are so delicious, I”m sure one day i’ll be slightly more ambitious with my selections off an Indian menu.

It was all so entirely delicious – the flavours of Indian food are just brilliant! Our only wish had been that we had more naan to finish all the tasty sauce off. One of life’s simple pleasures is enjoying sauce with naan bread. Good sauce, good bread.

I’d say, up there for one of the best Indian restaurants in Perth – wonderful tasty and spicy – loved it! Totally worth a visit!
