Always nice to give a heads up to a new foodie event heading to the West and this one goes hand in hand with a regular feature on the summer concert calendar – the Big Day Out. Adding an element of foodie flare to this year’s musical extravaganza is Chow Town!
While an impressive range of international musical acts will be appearing on stage – headliners and legendary rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers, along with The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend and Band of Horses just to name a few – there will also be some big local names in attendance too! Known for their culinary prowess, give it up for Perth’s rockstar chefs who’ll be serving up some tasty tucker to keep the festival goers energised with their gourmet fare at Perth’s Chow Town.
The line up on the food front includes:
- Matt Stone from Greenhouse
- Scott Alfonso from Andaluz
- Justin Bell from Snags and Sons
- Tess Williams from Clareneces
- Israel Ochoa and Gianni Monti from El Compa
- Joel Valvasori-Pereza from Lalla Rookh
Forget about your bucket of hot chips and save room for Clarence’s Mushroom Arancini with fetta whip or El Compa’s Chicken in Chipolte & Tomato Tacos. Or maybe a Lalla Rookh’s 6″ polpetone sub with italian slaw is more up your alley. Chicken & Seafood Paella comes courtesty of the Andaluz team and a Caramel Braised Pork, Rice dish from Matt Stone is sure to be a winner. And what would a festival be without a hot dog and Justin Bell from Snags and Sons knows how to do them right. He’ll be whipping up a New York Style Hot Dog – sure to be something special!
So if you are looking to enjoy some quality music along with some delicious food at Chow Town then head along to Claremont Showgrounds on Monday, January 28th and rock out at the Big Day Out. Tickets are still available 🙂
Awesome! I am working behind the bar at Big Day Out but hopefully I’ll get a break and can get a bite to eat from one of those places =)
So excited!
Hope you have a ball 🙂
