About

My name is CJ, aka perthmunchkin…… key word being ‘Munch’ – I love my food. I’m born and bred in Perth and over the years I’ve been lucky enough to venture to many a brilliant Perth and WA establishment with my dining partner in crime, GG.

We are blessed in Western Australia with amazing fresh, local produce and wonderful, passionate artisan producers, along with a vast array of very impressive eateries. Name your pleasure – seafood, Italian, French, Indian, etc…. it’s all on offer, with new fabulous restaurants opening up on regularly.

So this is where I share my passion for all things food in Perth. Where I’ve eaten, what I’m cooking, even a few travel tales. Thanks for reading along.

Please note that this blog is merely an outlet for me to wax lyrical about my food experiences. I work in finance by day so perthmunchkin is my chance to be creative. It is just my opinion and I can appreciate that others may disagree in some instances.

If you fancy sending me an email, here’s the best one to get me on – perthmunchkin@hotmail.com

Happy Eating!

    Hey CJ,

Congrats on the site looks great and I am a big fan of Perth based websites. My name is Adam Barrell and in my free time away from my 9 to 5 I am a freelance web designer http://www.albwebdesign.com.au. I was wondering if you would be interested in a link exchange with my Tweet Perth website which showcases Tweets from Perth in relation to News, Traffic, Weather, Sporting Clubs, Bloggers etc. I have started up a links page and would love to feature your site on there and in exchange I would be happy to have a link on your blogroll. Also are you on Twitter? If not you are missing the action as I have seen great responses to food based tweets and blogs (I saw the link to your website on Twitter). Please contact me via email to discuss further.

    Cheers

    Adam

Good things come in 3’s – food, wine and company. Had a lovely wine-dinner at Tom’s Kitchen with my wife, Perth Munchkin and like-minded foodies.

Hi perthmunchkin, after looking at your blog, I realise that you really are in love with food and Perth. Next time we catch up, we will have to try somewhere you haven’t been. Some help please CJ, have a birthday dinner to arrange for Anzac Day, a birthday for my daughter, hubby and their 2 year old son. The preference of my daughter is seafood and Aussie food. She thought Salt, Bluewater Grill or Red Herring. I am thinking Kailis Leederville given the seafood aspect….would love to get your thoughts..cheers HH

    Hi CJ

Think you site looks great and really great content. Im a local manufacturer of cakes in Perth supplying retail stores across Australia and a little exporting. We are looking for a blogger to promote our products and mange our social media as we have some great innovative products we want people to try and review. I have looked on various websites to try and find someone i would hope would be as excited and as passionate as we are about what we do- but they all seem a little corporate- if you know what i mean? have you any advise on where i might look for a partner and how to pick the right one?

    cheers

      Hi Marcus,

Thanks for your message. Would you be able to shoot me through an email to perthmunchkin@hotmail.com with a few more details on your cake business and I’ll have a think about who might be able to assist. I mean I am more than happy to lend a hand where I can, but would be great to hear a little more about what you do.

      Cheers

Thank you for your photo of the interior of Darrell Lea in Perth. I was commissioned to make those lollipop chandeliers for Darrell Lea, but never saw any photos of the finished product….so sad they’re gone….

    • August 11, 2016 at 10:03 AM #

So glad you enjoyed them Charmain. It was a really beautiful store!
