Hello Yelo!
There’s two Yelo’s in Perth and I’d not been to either but I did know there was one not too far from home in Mt Hawthorn. The little sister of the Yelo family I understood. I was due a pre-Christmas breakfast catch up with Miss P so we decided to call in there. It is only a pint sized place with only three or four tall stools along the window inside and then a few mismatched seating options outside. Thankfully we arrived very early and most folks were just walking in for their coffees and weren’t there to chat over breakfast.
It has a cutesie fitout, very welcoming and bright and the staff are all smiling and friendly.
Miss P had heard good things about Yelo’s smoothies so she ordered one of those and an egg and bacon muffin, while I ordered a soy flat white and an egg and bacon wrap. They also had egg and bacon on Turkish bread….. plenty of egg and bacon options! Enough to keep everyone happy….. as long as you liked egg and bacon though, but they did have other tasty looking options in their display cabinets. Sweet muffins, fruit salad, etc.
We perched on the table outside until they called our name and then went inside to collect our orders. I thought mine looked great! Scrambled eggs with bacon, English spinach and I believe BBQ sauce toasted in a thin, crispy pita wrap. Yum!! It was just delicious and very filling! I powered through my first half, savouring the fluffy scrambled eggs and the fabulousness of bacon. Ahh bacon. It was a winning combination and I enjoyed it with the sweetness from the BBQ sauce. Plus it was such a brilliant way to serve it at a place where you aren’t able to get eggs and bacon on a plate. Made it feel like you weren’t missing out, whilst on a breakfast out.
I was equally pleased with my coffee. Well-made and provided me with a sufficient caffeine kick to start my day.
So it had been a relatively short visit to this popular Mt Hawthorn local but I can see why it’s popular and am thinking I’ll have to head back and grab another of those egg and bacon wraps on the drive into work one day. Worth a visit!
