Attention fine foodie enthusiasts of Perth! Mark it in your calendars – Dine for Life 2014 is on Thursday, October 2nd! First held back in 2009 “Dine for Life is an innovative charity concept that fuses fine dining with raising awareness and money for an important cause”.
I’ve been to two of the events over the years, the first time I dined at Bar One and the second at Sentinel and they really are a lovely night out. You buy a ticket and it gets you a seat at a table of 10 at one of Perth’s premier restaurants for a delicious dinner, before you are whisked away to a lavish after party at a secret venue. Ooo la la! Fine dining and fun at its best! And all the while your generous decision to purchase a ticket supports a very worthwhile charity.
This year Dine for Life has chosen to support Australian NFP Child Wise, which is one of Australia’s leading child sexual abuse prevention organisations. 100% of your donations will go directly to Child Wise so they can implement the Speak Up Program, which was developed to connect with vulnerable children, families and community through a culturally informed and safe program that builds capacity in the awareness and prevention of child abuse within Indigenous communities.
Over the years, Dine for Life dinners have raised considerable funds for many worthy causes, including the Global Good Foundation, Samaritans Crisis Line, SISHA and the Somaly Mam Foundation. They hold their fundraising event against the backdrop of Perth’s stunning eateries and from the two events I’ve been to, I can say that it is an incredibly classy and indulgent night out. The talented Cocktail Gastronomy team even make an appearance at the after party and mix up something a little special and those boys know their cocktails!
Some of the restaurants for this year’s event include Restaurant Amuse, Divido, 1907, No 4 Blake Street and the list goes on….. plus a few new ones to be announced this year too I believe! It’s an exciting line up!
