I love Holy Bagel Company bagels, so when I venture to a new cafe that stocks them it is very hard to go past them! Such was the case on a recent visit to Hylin in West Leederville. A trendy new corner cafe, with vast open windows, cute potted plants and a friendly crew running the show, I was keen to head along for a visit.
Calling in for a quick pre-work breakie with Mrs P we both ordered coffee and bagels, how New Yorker of us! In the display cabinet we could spy them ready to go with an elegant stack of bacon, egg, cheese, a little relish and a schmear of cream cheese. Dual cheeses! We were living lavish that morning!
The flat white I ordered presented well and kick-started the day’s caffeine addiction and then it was all hands on deck to tackle the toasted bagels they had brought out. They didn’t scrimp on the bacon and it was a nice crispy fried egg.
I had earlier been celebrating the abundance of cheese but if I had my time again I would just have cream cheese and not the melted cheddar. It was a bit much for me, quite rich but easy enough to remove. The actual bagel itself was the delicious, bagelly perfection you’d expect from the Holy Bagel Company. They know their bagels! I’d say the onion and herb topped ones are my favourite.
So it was only a relatively short visit to Hylin but it’s clearly a popular addition to the neighbourhood with a steady stream of people wandering in while we were there. So if you fancy a fast and fabulous breakfast, give Hylin a whirl.

Coffe and bagel sounds great! I love my bagels with simply cream cheese on them, too!!!
Happy holidays!
