Yama Japanese Cafe – Queen Victoria Building Sydney

On our final morning in Sydney and GG and I procrastinated in our hotel until check out at 11am and wandered around looking for somewhere that served a nice late breakfast. We hadn’t walked through the Queen Victoria Building and I was keen for GG to see it. It’s pretty impressive with all the detail it has, nice arched ceilings and stained glass windows everywhere. We ended up on the top floor and saw a place called Yama that had a full cooked breakfast for $11.80. Too good a deal to pass up, so we sat down and peered down at the floors below.

We both ordered a pot of tea and I was really glad for that choice after many cups of coffee in the previous days it was a nice change. GG went for his staple – English Breakfast – and I tried the Monkey Jasmine. So nice!
So we sipped our tea while we waited for our breakfast which was a bit of a wait, but we were in no rush so it wasn’t a bother. So worth the wait!! Fresh baguette, beautifully poached eggs, tasty mushrooms, decent serve of bacon and a salad on the side. I had thought the inclusion of the salad was a little different. Was nice and refreshing and the perfect end to the meal after all that bacon. This was easily my favourite breakfast while we were in Sydney and I only wished I knew about it on the first day so I could have gone there every day! Brilliant service, great food – excellent value!
