I fully appreciate the term ‘lucky country’ when GG and I take Chablis, our fearless Chihuahua to the dog beach on Sunday mornings in Summer. I live somewhere where my dog gets the most amazing stretch of coastline to sniff about and splash in the water. So very spoilt because Perth beaches are just spectacular. And when I’m not walking my dog along these beautiful beaches I do so enjoy seaside dining and welcome new venues that overlook the water.
Like the lovely, new Squires Fortune. There’s a lot going on in sunny Scarborough these days and even the WA Premier recently announced that significant investment would be made to improve the area. And I think it is important, because the beaches are such draw cards and should be showcased.

But I digress. Squires Fortune is the second James Squire focused venue in Perth, after The Generous Squire which has been in the CBD for many years now.
The Squire’s Fortune, a bespoke brewhouse in Scarborough, WA is now officially pouring the flavoursome craft beers that bear the name of Australia’s first brewer, James Squire.
Developed through a partnership between WA-based Kapinkoff family and the James Squire brand, The Squire’s Fortune pays homage to the life of James Squire – the charming rogue who so often managed to turn chance into good fortune.
The Squire’s Fortune has been built using a range of unique materials that converge to create a vibrant and inviting environment. The rich texture of copper, amber glass and steel are contrasted against a striking feature ceiling that uses more than 1.7 kilometres of rope to give a nautical theme.
The venue offers a selection of drinking and dining areas, including an alfresco beer garden with views straight out over the Indian Ocean.
Showcasing the full range of James Squire craft beers and ciders the venue also boasts an inspired menu featuring the fines locally-sourced product and ingredients to create dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
With the full James Squire range on tap I’m confident you’ll find a brew for you. So pull up a chair, grab a beer and soak up some sunshine in the alfresco. Squires Fortune you are a welcome addition to the coast.
Thank you to Squires Fortune and Lion Nathan for the invitation to check out this great new spot. Hope to be back soon to sit down for a meal.
