C Restaurant

I won a $50 voucher for C-Restaurant a while ago so GG and I felt compelled to use it – a great opportunity to fly high above the CBD while dining.

Let me give you the red hot tip that a $50 voucher barely touches the side. The food is ok but you are paying for the view. The entree was my favourite, a potato and spinach gnocchi with a napolitana and gorgonzola cream sauce, roasted tomatoes. By far the best gnocchi dish I have ever had eaten – perfectly cooked gnocchi and the a delicious sauce – if I had known how amazing this was, I would have had it for entrees and mains.

For mains, GG had the chargrilled grassfed beef fillet, asparagus, baby beetroot and watercress salad, horseradish crème, which from all accounts he really enjoyed. Always partial to a good steak is my man.

I went with the 300g-pork striploin, lemon cognac glaze, roasted cumin seed chat potatoes, apple crisps. It was ok, the pork was perhaps a little dry and i’m not sure what they were trying for with the battered piece of apple on top of the meat…. but I suppose it was ok. It probably wasn’t my favourite dish and especially because I was dreaming of my brilliant entree still.

We didn’t have dessert, just sat and enjoyed the view while quaffing away on our Watershed Rose. Would I go back……… not sure, probably not…… a little bit pricey for what’s on offer. For a fancy occasion venue, there are a lot of places higher up the list.
