Given that GG and I are still living the TNT lifestyle for the most part of Monday to Friday, I’m always grateful to find somewhere in the vicinity of the office for lunch when I am not fortunate enough to have leftovers from the night before on hand.
I’d been to lunch at The Food Store once before but it was only recently that I decided to stop by and give their salads a go. They looked amazing and so fresh and the best thing was that they tend to change from day to day. Variety is so the spice of life.
When I went the other day the two salads I chose was a pear and blue cheese combination and then a chicken salad. Both looked chock full of nice chunky ingredients.
The chicken salad was definitely my favourite of the two. I had actually forgotten myself when I ordered the pear and blue cheese salad. Pear isn’t TNT friendly, but I was distracted by the mentioned of blue cheese. It’s taken me a while to get on board with blue cheese but I’m now a lover of its salty, bitey goodness. This really wasn’t the best blue cheese though, but the inclusion of the sweet pear definitely helped.
I’ve been pretty pleased with the different salad options I’ve had at the Food Store in the last month or so. There was one which had red and red cabbage that was tasty, a greek salad with a bitof fetta. I tend to go for the small take away option which is $8.50, but I am always pretty full after finishing it.
It’s a very popular spot, always many a full table and with the tasty selections on offer I can see why. I’ll definitely head back.
