Fresh fruit and veggies. All snug together in a big box. Like a brightly coloured rainbow. Magic. Well I had such an edible rainbow delivered to me last week courtesy of the team at The Lettuce Shop.
The Lettuce Shop is a family owned, online grocery shop delivering quality fresh produce and local products straight to the doors of local families. The Lettuce Shop has been servicing local households since 2003. Our main objective and the reason behind our service is to help the local farmer supply their product to the people of Perth, and to provide convenience and quality produce to our customers.
The Lettuce Shop team visits the Canning Vale markets every morning, which ensures that their produce is as fresh as possible and has been sourced locally. Orders are then packed and delivered in refrigerated trucks that very afternoon. Stock is bought to order so there’s no chance of it sitting around for days and compromising freshness.
Along with fruit and veg the Lettuce Shop also supports other WA local businesses by stocking products from Brownes, Harvey Fresh, Holy Smoke, Poach Pear, Princi, Kate Lane, Whistler’s Chocolates and Stirling Foods.
Where possible, we source WA produce and if this is not possible, we only buy products from within Australia.
I think it’s a brilliant idea and so when I was recently asked if I would be interested in receiving a complimentary box, I definitely was! I love the idea of having my fruit and veg sourced locally and while going on frequent visits to farmers markets myself would be ideal, time constraints are such that I am rarely able to find the time. So The Lettuce Shop makes my farmers market aspirations a convenient possibility 🙂

I almost wish I could have just left it in this artistic pile on the kitchen counter, but it did make getting dinner ready a little difficult 🙂 so it was carefully packed into the fridge. I was grateful we’d recently super-sized our fridge 🙂
Over the next week or so we enjoyed some great crunchy salads, fresh veg on the side of steak or chicken and I had a lovely piece of fruit for my afternoon tea. I can definitely vouch for the freshness of all the products that I got to try. Plenty of snap in the snow peas, a crisp sweetness to the apples and juicy goodness to the citrus additions.
I think The Lettuce Shop does great work. I recently attended the Eat Drink Blog conference and was reminded of the importance of supporting local producers and the added benefits and increased nutritional value of eating fresh fruit and vegetables. The Lettuce Shop ticks both these boxes with the added benefit of delivering straight to your door.
