AGL Energy is one of Australia’s leading integrated energy companies providing gas services to homes and businesses in Western Australia.
Back in July, AGL Energy made their move into the West Australian market. For consumers, more competition is definitely a good thing. Nothing like a bit of competitive tension to ensure that households are getting the best deal possible for their gas, so welcome AGL Energy!
Now to highlight their commitment to the WA market they recently got behind a much loved West Aussie charity when they held a BBQ in Forrest Place last Friday morning, giving away free burgers and $10 from every burger made was donated to Telethon. They gave away one thousand burgers, meaning a $10,000 donation was made on behalf of AGL towards helping local kids.
Telethon has been created by and belongs to the community of Western Australia who over five decades have generously donated more than $231 million to ensure a better life for our children now and in the future.
On this particular Friday morning in Perth city AGL Energy enlisted the help of some local Perthonalities, who could either whip you up their own signature breakky burger or help you create your very own. As you carefully considered all your options, it was hard to choose which one to have as they all sounded very tasty!
Despite the early hour, the smiling familiar faces of Jordan Bruno (MKR), Nikki Gogan (The Bachelor), Eamon Sullivan (Olympian and Restaurateur), Ross Glendinning (AFL Legend) and Scott Guerini (Total star! Read all about this amazing young lad’s story here) happily served up burger after burger for the hungry city dwellers…… like this eager worker bee.
Let me tell you there were some creative creations in the mix! But didn’t they all look delicious, plus completely each to their own with what you think makes the perfect breakky burger.
Now for me I kept things relatively simple and went with the classics – egg, bacon, cheese and ok things then got a little more creative with a little lettuce because I decided greenery was the way to go. As a counter to the uber healthy salad addition I also went for a hash brown on the side because, well how good are hash browns! Am I right?
I don’t have a hot breakfast on too many weekdays, usually pro cereal, so it was quite the treat to find a table and sit and watch all the action unfold as I enjoyed my very tasty hot breakky burger.
As more and more people rolled in, Rick the Rock Eagle also made an appearance, as lively as always, happily posing for many a selfie with eager West Coast fans.
I had no doubt that the thousand burgers would have been snapped up in a flash. Hard to say no to a free breakfast and that entirely enticing smell of bacon from the barbeques had folks flocking! Plus such an incredibly worthwhile cause to support.
So well done AGL on getting behind our much loved Telethon and playing your part in helping them achieve their record total!

Please note: This is a sponsored post for AGL. My opinions are my own. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger and as someone who stayed at Princess Margaret’s Children’s Hospital as a child it is wonderful when businesses get behind our Telethon.
